From Spark to Flame.
SparkDesk is where a caught idea becomes something finished — the Mac desk where you listen back, sharpen the words, and file every spark into place.

Triage
A pile of sparks becomes a board.
Every spark you captured lands in the Inbox. Move it along the lanes as you work it through — and the board mirrors real folders, so filing a card actually files the file.
Lanes that mean something
Inbox, On Hold, In Process, Done, Retired — or your own. Drag a card and it moves on disk, not just on screen.
Boards for each world
Keep separate workspaces — work, personal, a project — each with its own lanes. Cycle them with a keystroke.
Or a flat list
Prefer a stream? Switch to List and group by date, category, rating, and more.
Listen & read
Hear it again. Read it right.
The words you said in a hurry deserve a second pass — at a real keyboard, with real time.
Play the stream
Space to play the selected spark. Even out playback volume lifts a quiet wrist capture so nothing is too soft to hear.
Better transcripts
Re-transcribe on the Mac — including Whisper, which turns spoken Swiss-German dialect into written German. Automatic on new arrivals, if you like.
Edit & annotate
Fix a word, or add your own notes to any spark — even one captured with transcription off.
Make it yours
Shaped to how you work.
Tune the board and the details until the desk fits your hand.
Add, reorder, rename, remove
Delete a lane and it asks where its sparks should go — nothing is ever lost.
Show only the fields you use
Rating, priority, category, colours — choose what appears in the detail pane.
Never reach for the mouse
Navigate, move, rate, rename, play, triage — all from the keys. Press ? for the full sheet.
At your desk
A thought at the Mac? Capture it here.
You don't need your phone to add a spark. Press ⌘N to record or type one right at the desk — it lands in the same place as everything else, ready to triage.
Private by design
Your sparks stay yours.
SparkDesk reads the sparks in your own iCloud folder and sends nothing to us — no account, no analytics, no tracking. Transcription runs on your Mac; the Whisper model downloads to your machine and does its work there. Your ideas never pass through our hands.
Better together
Catch them on iPhone & Apple Watch.
SparkDesk is the desk; Spark is how the ideas get there. Speak or type a spark on your iPhone or Apple Watch, and it flows into SparkDesk through your own iCloud — nothing in between.
Questions
The short answers.
Do I need the Spark iPhone app?
No. SparkDesk works on a folder of sparks on its own, and can capture right at your Mac. But it pairs beautifully with Spark on iPhone and Apple Watch — that's where most sparks are born.
Is my data private?
Yes. SparkDesk reads your sparks from your own iCloud folder and sends nothing to us. There's no account, no analytics. Transcription happens on your Mac.
What will it cost?
SparkDesk is free during the beta. Any future Pro upgrade would be a one-time purchase, never a subscription.
Does it need an internet connection?
Only to download the Whisper transcription model the first time (and to sync your iCloud folder, which macOS handles). After that, transcription runs entirely on your Mac.
Which Macs does it run on?
Any Mac on macOS 13 or later. It's a native, sandboxed Mac app, distributed through TestFlight during the beta.
